Our milestones
ReportOUT started in 2019, and since then, we have been at the forefront of reporting, informing, and defending, the human rights of LGBTQI+ populations with a number of milestones as we have grown. We hope that you will celebrate them with us and continue to join us on our journey!
October 2019: ReportOUT is born!
Starting off with a small team of volunteers and global Trustees, ReportOUT was started by it's Founder, Drew Dalton.
2020: We launch our OUT in Uganda research report
Working with seven Ugandan partner organisations, we research and document the abuses and development needs, of sexual and gender minorities in Uganda.
2020: We launch the first of many Global Campaigner training courses
Since 2020, we have trained over 100+ people from over 40+ countries, to become the next generation of new campaigners to create social change for sexual and gender minorities.
2020: Our 'Hidden Voices Podcasts' air
Featuring 20 activists from 20 different countries, our podcast series from our Education and Training Officers took a deep dive into the lives of sexual and gender minorities across the globe.
2020: Fame! We appear in the annual ILGA State-Sponsored Homophobia Report
Our research is cited in ILGA's annual text. A proud day for us, as our research is used by others.

2020: Our fantastic events launch and continue to run today!
Our first event was about sexual and gender minorities in South-East Asia. Now, we have hosted over 2,000 people at over 20+ events!
2020: ReportOUT join UKAGE
ReportOUT join the UK Alliance for Global Equality and take part in a number of lobbying activities to make social change for sexual and gender minorities, as part of a powerful coalition of organisations. From 2024, ReportOUT become Chair of UKAGE!
2021: We speak at World Pride in Copenhagen
Our OUT in Uganda research is presented at the human rights conference, as part of World Pride.
2022: Our Flag in the Map Exhibition launches and wins a global award!
Working with the Gilbert Baker Foundation, we asked the public to submit their photographs of the Pride flag and their stories of its importance to them. We launched it in New York and London, and since then, the exhibition has toured the world!
2022: Our 'Green in the Rainbow' research launches, connecting queer people and the Climate Emergency
Our powerful research showed how the Climate Emergency is a threat-multiplier for sexual and gender minorities.
2023: Our OUT in Mongolia research is the first of its kind!
Working with Mongolian queer organisations, we took a deep dive into Mongolia, documenting the human rights and development needs, of sexual and gender minorities. This country-wide report was the first of its kind in Mongolia!
2023: Our Mongolia research is heard at the United Nations Higher Level Political Form
Enkhmaa Enkbold from the Mongolian LGBT Centre spoke about our OUT in Mongolia research at the highest level of the United Nations, where the UN Sustainable Development Goal progress are discussed by world leaders. A proud moment for all!
2023: We submit our first report to the United Nations (and we continue this!)
We have submitted research and it has been cited and used at the United Nations. From the UN Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, to the UN Human Rights Office of the High Commission, and the Independent SOGIESC Expert, our research impact has exploded!
2023: We launch the world's first global Declaration at the 'I, Exist Too Conference' in Panama
We co-wrote the 'I Exist, Too Declaration,' which ensures that the human rights of LGBTQI+ people, within the global maritime industry, are safeguarded and protected. The first of it's kind!
2023: We train staff at Legebitra (Slovenia) in using the PhotoVoice technique
Working with Legebitra, our Queering PhotoVoice project trained up staff and volunteers in using visual methods to support the voices of sexual and gender minorities to speak to power and make social change happen.

2024: We continue to be nominated for awards for what we do!
We are always delighted to be recognised for what we do and throughout our five years we have been shortlisted for (and occasionally won!) awards
2024: Five years later, we are still proudly volunteer-led at ReportOUT
Volunteers are at the core of what we do. Five years later we now have over 80+ volunteers from over 40+ countries in total. Many of them have been with us for years. What an achievement!
